Probate and Letters of Administration
As well as preparing wills and estate plans, we are experienced probate lawyers and can assist with the legal steps required after someone has passed away. This includes applying for a Grant of Probate (where there is a valid will) or Letters of Administration (where there is no will or the will cannot be located). These grants are orders of the Supreme Court that confirm who has the authority to manage and distribute the estate of the deceased.

If you want us to, we can also liaise with financial institutions, aged care facilities, and government bodies, assist with the return of RAD aged care bonds, arrange the closure of bank accounts, and manage the transfer of property and shares to beneficiaries.
If a loved one has passed away and no will can be found, we can also undertake searches and, if necessary, prepare an application for Letters of Administration to ensure the estate is administered in accordance with the law.
